The outlines of a recovery plan


In his first weekly address since being sworn in as the 44th president of the United States, President Barack Obama discussed how the American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan will jump-start the economy on January 24, 2009.

In his weekly address, President Barack Obama announced on January 31, 2009 that Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner is preparing a new strategy for reviving our financial system, and urged the swift passage of an American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan.

  2. …that depends on what period in history you look at. we shall see; doing nothing is worse. at least we have as president a thinking man — surrounded by other thinking men and women — who actually have the interests of the public at heart. an executive order protecting labor rights is refreshing.
