Clinton-as-viable-nominee: A media product

Clinton’s much paraded viability as a candidate is disgusting not because she does not have my support, but because it is manufactured by exactly the campaign impulse I feared when I first posted my very first blog: voter manipulation.

Mainstream media — ABC, CNN, FOX, even NYTimes — are tripping over themselves in drumming up support for Clinton by publishing/highlighting every single spin on her viability/electability, despite the factual reality of her faltering campaign.

What a shame. It is lamentable that this charade of Clinton-as-viable-nominee must go on and the media, whom in theory ought to have our back — who ought to exist in opposition to the ‘establishment’ — is in on it. Communities least able to sift through the Clinton/big Media trash will be most manipulated. And once again, the fat elite will win.

At some point, we need to turn the page and move on.

  1. Part II of “racist America”-as you can see from my previous statements!some are which coming true. For one the Dems are hurting each other’s campaign which results in McCain gaining more supporters and time to sit back and watch the Dems do his work for him(ruin each other).furthermore, as you’ve witnessed Amerikkka is still showing why Obama-an African American-is good enough to be on a stage with us but not good enough to be in the front running the show. Its not HrC’s strategy that’s keeping her in the race but the predominantly “white” populated states keeping her in.Stay tuned for Part III of Racist AmeriKKKa!!

  2. I think it’s pretty pathetic, actually, that HRC insists on dragging the primaries longer than it should instead of looking at the BIG picture, accepting defeat and saving some dignity. She needs to move on and try to find a way to aid Obama in putting together a plan to beat McCain come the REAL Election.

I do give her credit for her persistence and determination, unfortunately, I think as delusional as she’s become thinking that there is still a chance for her to be the nominee I almost pity her and her failing efforts. The media clearly has played its part in ensuring she continues with the race. Their constant focusing on the Wright issue and their unwavering determination to somehow portray him as an elitist, not connected with the working class, and to connect him with Ayers who was never convicted/charged w/ terrorism.

Yes Obama gained credibility with some of IN white women and Catholics not to mention their votes but the relentless mention of his association with above people and the bitter comment being twisted and everything he says being misconstrued/taken out of context all the time especially from a network(CNN) watched by millions if not billions of americans will take and has taken its toll on Obama’s campaign.

Like John Kerry told one reporter and Michelle Obama during an interview it’s time to move on and focus on issues that matter and give Obama a chance to describe what he has to offer instead of wasting air time defending himself.

I don’t see the media focusing on HRC claim to be a common person but yet when asked about her sentiments on the hardship the high cost of gas is causing she responds by saying she actually hasn’t put gas in her car herself for sometime and that clip with her having trouble with that convenient store coffee machine!!

That is not something someone who claims to be a commoner would have trouble with!! She is just saying what people want to hear and if she continues to go on to the white house I surely hope she is able to keep her many promises.

  3. Amen, brother. Fortunately, more and more folks — Democratic leaders, pundits, other opinion-makers — are beginning to think just like you: that the fight for the nomination is over for Clinton, and that it would be undesirable for her to continue, not only because of the damage she’ll cause Obama’s campaign but also for herself. Some are saying that she will be seen as being selfish for continuing on.

I’m hoping that in a couple of weeks we’ll see a major announcement about her moving on.

Thank you for your thoughtful post.

  4. CHECK OUT THIS LINK TO SEE CONTROVERSY INVOLVING HILLARY AND OBTAINING HER SENATE SEAT…

    http://www.hillcap.org

NOW YOU TELL ME WHY WE HAVEN’T HEARD ABOUT IT AND HILLARY NEEDS TO BE QUESTIONED ABOUT WHY SHE GOT OFF EASY TAKING DONATION FROM PETER PAUL TO HELP HER OBTAIN HER SENATE SEAT AND THEN DENYING KNOWING THE GUY AFTER

  5. whymyvotedoesn’tcount, check out this post describing the overt racism faced by Obama volunteers in White neighborhoods.

If you read the comments of readers, you’ll get even more disheartened and shocked at how many racist bigots still exist out there? Where do these people come from? If only it made sense, in this case, to fight fire with fire … Because doing so would mean becoming the very person I abhor, so this cannot be an option. Each of us must find our own way.
